Next Shot - WEEK 9----Technique -- Sepia - Gifts of Nature Set two

Ok raining outside, and Baz still has this theme of Sepia (gifts of nature) going on. So sitting here playing around with some other shots.

These are shots of the waterfalls on the Washington coast.

This is a little different. Playing with channels to get the popping colors.

  2. The first two I processed with a plugin called Sepia 2.01 Photo Freebies
The next two I used Nik software to convert to sepia. The second from 5th one with a little boost in the blue channel.
The next one I used the color tone, and added it to the whole shot. Giving it a slight cast of color, and that is when I started to get carried away as you can see. Time to pick up the camera and go shoot something. Before someone shoots me.

  3. The last shot was a Photomerge of two shots. Tried to get the bottom and the top of the fall put together.

  6. wterfalls are awesome. I love them. Your shots are wonderful, all of them, but I like the first ones that do have a bit of color pop for uniqueness.

  8. They are all wonderful but in some the water looks almost as if it isn't part of the picture! It is a strange thing. Looks cool though!

  9. Incredible results!

Love that second one from the top in particular (just my personal taste), but who could ever pick a "best"? There's an absolute minimum of 2-3 real stunners here (and not a 'bad' one among them.)

(I can't help but wonder what the result would have been if Ansel Adams had had access to the modificationizers that are available nowdays. Would the world have had more Ansel Adam'es or would he have taken today's photographic results to a whole higher level?)

ps - The only waterfall around here is at the local mall. Nice part of the country!

  10. Time always opens up doors, and then the next time another one opens. Etc etc etc. I am sure Ansel wants a second chance now a days.

  11. I am unsure what you meant on the Sepia thing? Did I get it wrong?

  12. Wow! These are terrific shots. You've given me some great ideas for the next time I go shooting waterfalls. Sorry I didn't come sooner. I really thought I had already come by your page early on.
