Road trip to Bend Oregon




Some shots I wanted to share from my drive.

  8. Yes that is some of the volcano that shaped the North west. Very violent times back then. We still see a lot of what sits below our feet. Here is a great video a friend did, Kathleen Kiefer. and it shows what made this area the way it looks. I am shocked to see all the lava fields here that look like it happened last year, but really happened 50 million years ago. WOW! Then throw in Lake Missoula floods from only 17 million years ago. What an active area.



    If you look at google maps you can see how the lake washed away all of the top soil, but really going farther back. Like 50 million years ago, what is now a near desert in Oregon, was a near tropical environment, where crocodiles and palm trees flourished.

  13. You let me know if you ever want to get together and go on a road trip. I am still trying to figure out how to use this camera and I am always looking for a reason to go somewhere and practise. LOL
